EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT

Because every student is different, each will be given a Personalized Education Plan designed to fill in learning gaps, raise achievement levels, and help the student efficiently move towards his academic and life goals.

In certain cases, selected students are paid to attend and succeed in school. By regarding school as a job, some students will be motivated to achieve.

 This state-of-the-art tutoring center uses neuroscientific-based resources to remediate and advance student learning. The methods and materials used actually reprogram the way the mind processes information, changing the way the brain learns. Certain programs like FastForWord, MindPlay, and the Reading Assistant, can improve learning and reading skills rapidly, sometimes as much as one full grade level per 20 hours on the program! We also use digital math improvement programs, e.g., CatchUp Math, ALEKS, DimensionU, Kumon, etc. In each case, student learning is monitored and measured.

Test preparation includes preparing students to take the California High School Proficiency Exam (CHSPE), which enables them to leave high school early with a graduation certificate from the State of California. This is sometimes critical for some students because it bypasses the need to count credits, subject requirements, and other graduation standards they may lack.

We also prepare students for the PSAT, SAT, ACT, and other college entrance exams.

Some students will be able to take community college classes while they are still in high school. For some, this is to enrich their lives, while others can use this to earn certain certificates leading to employment.

TILT offers study skills, homework help, and other concentrated academic assistance leading to high school graduation.
